Students may pursue degrees at either the Masters or Doctoral level.
Programs offer flexibility in terms of numbers and kinds of courses, and
place a great weight on excellence in research. We offer teaching and research assistantships for graduate students on a competitive basis. Ph.D. applicants are eligible for University of Alberta Ph.D. Scholarships that include a full stipend and fees for up to two years. Students holding NSERC scholarships currently receive a supplement for each year of the award from the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research. Regardless of the source of funding, all students in good standing receive funding for the first three years of a Masters program, and the first five years of a Ph.D. program, at the minimum rate of $15,500 per year.
