T. rotatorium

The trypomastigote stage of Trypanosoma rotatorium swims in the blood of amphibians. Note the two nucleated erythrocytes on the left.

This photo a trypomastigote, with its unusual body shape. The nucleus is large and is located in just left of centre of the trypomastigote. The kinetoplast is not evident in this specimen end. The flagellum, but the undulating membrane on the top right of the photo is prominent.
