The trophozoite of amoebas is amoeboid in shape. There is a single nucleus in most species, such as the Entamoeba histolytica in this photo. The morphology of the nucleus is important in identifying species of amoebas. In this species, the endosome (= karyosome) is located near the centre of the nucleus.
