This short contribution presents to
the participants of the conference on « Major
events in early vertebrate
evolution : palaeontology, phylogeny and
development » (NHM, London, 8-9
April 1999), the general
frame of results which have been obtained during the 6
years if IGCP 328 :
Palaeozoic Microvertebrate Biochronology and Global
Marine/Non-Marine
Correlation(1991-1996).
These
results will be fully published in a special issue of
Courier Forschungs-Institut
Senckenberg(Frankfurt
am Main, FRG) before the end of 1999. The volume will
comprise
ca.
500 pages, 140 text-figs., 29 tables, 37 black-and-white
photographic plates, 50 authors,

papers.
