Current Research Interests

The principle research interest in my lab is the study of aquatic and marine bioinvasions, specifically 1) methods to move invasion biology from a descriptive to predictive discipline 2) major shifts in selection regimes often accompany invasions (both for invading and native species), therefore we use invasions as model systems to investigate patterns and processes of population and community level adaptive response. Other research foci include the management and conservation of harvested, fringe and insular fish populations; fish phenotypic plasticity and evolution; measures of biodiversity and the relationships between biodiversity measures and ecosystem functions.
