Committee - Department of Biological Sciences

A
safety committee for the department has been assembled and
consists of several individuals with diverse backgrounds
that are interested in promoting safety in the Department.
The primary aim of this committee is to develop and publicize
guidelines and policies that advocate the use of safe practices
and procedures and that avoid the occurrence of needless
risk to workers in the office, lab or in the field.
The
committee shall:
- record
incidents and review accidents with the aim of preventing
further occurrence
- conduct
safety training sessions for employees;
- publicize
relevant safety information on the Department's Home
Page;
- conduct
work area surveys to identify unsafe conditions; provide
written recommendations for improvement.

the committee consists of:

Anyone
who has any concerns related to worker safety is encouraged
to contact their supervisor or any of the committee members
for further information.
