Welcome to the Web Site and Online Store (the "Site") of the Canadian Society of Zoologists (the "Society"). If you access and use this Site, you accept and agree to be bound by and comply with these terms (the "Terms"). If you do not accept the Terms, do not use the Site.

The Terms are to be read by you together with any terms, conditions or disclaimers provided in the pages of the Site. In the event of any conflict, the terms provided in the pages of the Site will govern.

The information, material and content provided in the pages of the Site (the "Information") may be changed at any time without notice. Changes may be made to the Terms at any time without notice by updating this posting. You agree to review the Terms regularly and your continued access or use of the Site will mean that you agree to any changes. You agree that the Society shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any modification, suspension, withdrawal or discontinuance of the Site content.

This Site is only for your personal, non-commercial use of viewing and browsing through the Site or ordering products or services from the Site. You may download material displayed on the Site for non-commercial, personal use only, provided you also retain all copyright and other proprietary notices contained on the materials. You may not, however, distribute, modify, transmit, reuse, report, or use the contents of the Site, including text, data, images, audio, video and other materials for public or commercial purposes without written permission of the Society (direct requests to the Secretary). You agree that the Society, in its sole discretion, may terminate or restrict your use or access to this Site (or any part thereof) for any reason, including, without limitation, that the Society believes you have violated or acted inconsistently with the letter or spirit of these Terms and Conditions, or other terms or conditions contained within the Site. Upon termination, you must destroy all materials obtained from this Site and all copies thereof.

All products and services of the Society and its affiliates and service providers are subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable agreements governing their use.

Information Security

Any unprotected e-mail communication over the Internet is not confidential, subject to possible interception or loss, and is also subject to possible alteration. We do not encourage anyone to send us personal or financial information by e-mail. The Society is not responsible for and will not be liable to you or any one else for any damages in connection with an e-mail sent by you to the Society or an e-mail sent by the Society to you at your request.

You understand that any communication that you send to this Site may be read or intercepted by others unless there is a special notice that a particular message (for example, credit card information) is encrypted.

Sending a communication to the Society does not cause the Society to have any special responsibility to you beyond that outlined in our Privacy Policy.

Web Site Rules

You agree not to interrupt or attempt to interrupt the operation of this Site in any manner whatsoever. Users are prohibited from violating or attempting to violate the security of the Site, including, without limitation, by: i) accessing data not intended for such user or logging into a server or account which the user is not authorized to access; ii) attempting to probe, scan or test the vulnerability of a system or network or to breach security or authentication measures without proper authorization; iii) attempting to interfere with service to any user, host or network, including, without limitation, via means of submitting a virus to the Site, overloading, "flooding", "spamming", "mail bombing" or "crashing".

Users are prohibited from using the Site to provide the Society, or its affiliates or service providers, information that is inaccurate or information that the user is not authorized to provide.

No endorsement or approval of any third parties or their advice, opinions, information, products or services is expressed or implied by any Information.

Links from or to web sites outside the Site are meant for convenience only. The Society does not review, endorse, approve or control, and is not responsible for any sites linked from or to the Site, the content of those sites, the third parties named therein, or their products and services. Linking to any other site is at your sole risk and the Society will not be responsible or liable for any damages in connection with linking.

You are granted a limited, revocable, and nonexclusive right to create a hyperlink to the home page of the Site so long as the link does not portray the Society, its affiliates, or their products or services in a false, misleading, derogatory, or otherwise offensive matter. You may not use any Society logo as part of the link without express written permission of the Society.
