The PIE Section met May 13-17, 2013 in conjunction with the
annual meeting of the Canadian Society of Zoologists at the University of Guelph. The theme of the Parasitology Section
Symposium, organized by Brian Dixon, was "Parasitism-Immunity-Environment Interactions: Sweet as Cherry PIE / Interactions Parasitisme-Immunité-Environnement."
The speakers were:
- Matthew Rise (MUN): "Functional genomics research on the impact of elevated temperature on Atlantic cod immune responses/ Recherche en génomique fonctionnelle sur l'impact d'une élévation de la température sur la réponse immunitaire de la morue de l'Atlantique"
- Janet Koprivnikar (Brandon): "Turbulent waters: host-parasite interactions in a changing world/ Eaux turbulentes : interactions hôte-parasite dans un monde en plein changement"
- Christopher Kyle (Trent): "Influence of demographic parameters on patterns of local adaptation in terrestrial rabies vectors Influence de param&egrav;tres démographiques sur les modes d'adaptation locaux des vecteurs de la rage en milieu terrestre."
