The Parasitology Section met May 10-14, 2005 in conjunction with the annual
meeting of the Canadian Society of Zoologists at Queen's University, Kingston,
ON. The theme of the Parasitology Section Symposium was "Amphibian
deformities and declines: the role of parasites and disease."
The speaker's were:
- David Green (McGill): The state of amphibians: decline, disease and
desperate measures.
- Stan Sessions (Hartwick College, New York): The handicapped frog
hypothesis: how and why trematodes cause limb deformities in frogs.
- Pieter Johnson (U Wisconsin, Madison): Amphibian malformations and
parasitic infection: ecological drivers across time and space.
- Danna Schock (U Arizona): Geographic differences in the ecology of a
widespread salamander virus.
