The Parasitology Section met May 11-15, 2004 in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Canadian Society of Zoologists at Acadia University, Wolfville, NS. The theme of the Parasitology Section Symposium was "Parasite-induced behavioral alterations."

Speakers were:

• Martin Kavaliers (Western): Functional genomics and the recognition of parasitized individuals.
• Shelly Adamo (Dalhousie): Immune-neural connections in the host may be exploited by parasites to induce changes in host behavior.
• Cam Goater (Lethbridge): Altered behavior and pathology in trematode-infected fathead minnows.
