The parasitology Section met 8-11 May 2002 in conjunction with the annual
meeting of the Canadian Society of Zoologists at the University of Lethbridge,
Lethbridge, Alberta. The theme of the Parasitology Section Symposium was
"The ecology and evolution of arthropod/host interactions."
- Dr. Mark R. Forbes (Carleton): Parasites as jacks of all trades: masters of
some.
- Dr. Robert Anderson (Winnipeg): Interactions between Anopheline mosquitoes,
malaria parasites and human hosts- battle in the blood!
- Dr. William M. Samuel (Alberta): Winter ticks invading moose, moose evading
ticks: fantas-tick story.
- Dr. Paul Schmid-Hempel (Zurich): Invisible but relevant- parasites and
immunity in (social) insects.
