The plerocercoid of Triaenophrous crassus is found in the muscles of whitefish and their relatives. During growth and migration in some hosts the plerocerocids may end up in other sites including the brain. The plerocercoids may exceed 10 cm in length and occur in cysts that are easily visible to the naked eye.
