The sporocyst is a simple germinal sac, without digestive system or appendages. This slide shows a cluster of about six sporocysts. The dark masses in each sporocyst are mother rediae in various stages of development. These are produced asexually and will burst through the wall of the sporocyst and begin producing daughter rediae.
