These proglottids have been fed upon by the intermediate host flour beetle, Tribolium confusum in a laboratory setting. The numerous outlines of eggs in the remaining uterine tissue illustrate where eggs have been ingested. Some eggs remain in the upper and lower margins of the proglottid. The yellowish-brown cylinders scattered about are simply beetle feces.
