Moniliformis female

The female reproductive system is quite simplified. At the top of the photo is the ligament sac which contains eggs in various stages of development and ovarian balls. The eggs are black and slender and the ovarian balls are a bit larger, oval, and reddish-grey in color in this photo.

The terminal reproductive structures are barely visible along the midline of the body in the right 1/3 of the photo. Starting from the posterior tip of the worm and moving anteriorly is a narrow vagina, a wider uterus, and then a cluster of cells which form the selector apparatus. The vulva and uterine bell are not visible in this photo.
