External Examiner Funding from FGSR
Please be advised that the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research has a limited budget of $67,000 to support external examiner funding for the 2009 fiscal year. Funding is available to either bring external examiners to the University of Alberta to attend final doctoral exams or to fund external examiner teleconferencing costs.

Allocations will be made on a first-come-first-served basis, and the number of doctoral students in the department and previously allotted external examiner funding will be considered.
The maximum amount available for travel is $1,000 based on estimated travel costs; the maximum available for teleconferencing is $300. Departments are asked to use discretion as not all requests can be funded.
To make a request, complete the appropriate form, available at http://www.gradstudies.ualberta.ca/examsconvo/docexams.htm
