Welcome to Introductory Entomology at the University of Alberta

From this page you can gain access to a series of six posters covering aspects of insect structure commonly covered in intoductory entomology courses. These are intended to supplement lecture and laboratory coverage of basic insect structure. The degree of detail presented here may differ from what your instructor requires in your course. If you are not familiar with using the Adobe Acrobat Reader, consult the appropriate paragraphs below.

Please Note: The images in the modules are high resolution. For best results, set your monitor at 16 bit colour and at least 800 x 600 resolution. The modules are in a pdf (portable document format) file. The Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view such files. The best option for study purposes is to save the pdf file to your hard drive and view as needed with Acrobat Reader 3.0.

Mac users - save the downloaded pdf file from the desktop to a folder.

Windows 95 users - point to the desired file on this page, click the RIGHT mouse button, save the pdf file in a directory of your choice.
