Current Research Interests

During retirement, I am pursuing my interest in the mechanism by which transposable elements can cause mutations.  We are studying a series of P element alleles of the vestigial gene in Drosophila, where it appears that the mutant effects are caused by a phenomenon known as RNA interference.
