Research Interests
I am an ecologist interested in the ecological consequences of human activities on marine and freshwater ecosystems. Specifically, my research addresses the causes and effects of species invasions, and the impacts of anthropogenic environmental change on aquatic communities. I am also more broadly interested in community ecology, animal behaviour, and algal defense strategies. My approach to this research includes a combination of observational studies, field- and laboratory-based experiments, and the compilation and reanalysis of existing datasets.
