Systematics and Evolution
My current thesis work is aimed at understanding the role of phenotypic plasticity in shaping ecological and evolutionary processes in marine systems. Specifically I am using a well-studied group of pacific intertidal barnacles to determine the cues for leg length plasticity in this group and more generally, to investigate the conditions under which plasticity is favored over genetic differentiation.
