What is a sexier topic than feather mite morphology? Sexual coevolution of feather mite genitalia. Within feather mites, the family Trouessartiidae is unique in comprising both males and females with greatly varying genitalic structures. My research will focus on the coevolutionary relationship between male and female feather mite genitalia through the construction of phylogenies and mapping of morphological characters.
