The Department of Biological Sciences supports an imaging resource facility with state-of-the art integrated microscopy. The major installations were purchased through funding from the NSERC, CFI, IIPP, and the Faculty of Science. The goal of this facility is to provide a unique opportunity to all researchers on and off campus, for understanding the biological functions at highest possible resolution. This research unit endeavors to acquire microscopic images of living cell structures, characterize molecular interactions and present multidimensional images in support of research and teaching.
The Department of Biological Sciences provides consistent support to this facility through the positive and proactive feedback of a user committee. Educational initiatives are encouraged and the need for remaining current with new development is supported.
