Boreal Chorus Frog (Pseudacris maculata)
Distribution
- all of Alberta except alpine habitats.
Brief Description
- small in size; pointed snout; skin with granular texture; dark stripe extending from snout and passing through orbital region.
Habitat
- lakes, slow flowing water, oxbows of larger rivers; in or along water margin; overwintering in mud under water.
Feeding
- omnivore, feeding on both plant and animal matter.
Reproduction
- spawning in April to June or July.
