- Biol 208 (Ecology and Environment) or Zool 250 (Survey of Invertebrates; may take Z250 as co-requisite)

- 1 midterm (40%), 1 final (60% cumulative)
- exam format: multiple choice (50%), terms (40%), short answer (10%)
- NO deferred midterm exam (mark based on remaining exam)

- 7) GOALS OF COURSE:
- introduce oceanography (seawater, wind, waves, currents, tides)
- survey major marine communities and inhabitants
- basic ecological principles relevant to marine communities
- human interactions with the marine environment
- to provide a background for Bamfield courses
