Insects of Canada on the Web

A booklet introducing the insect fauna of Canada was prepared by the Survey for the XVIIIth International Congress of Entomology which was held in Vancouver in 1988. This information has now been adapted for posting on the World Wide Web. The site summarizes general features of the country as well as the taxonomic composition and ecological relationships of its insects. Specific sections deal with:

  • An overview of the Canadian environment
  • The composition of the Canadian fauna
  • A description of the Canadian biomes and the typical insect fauna found there
  • Insect distribution
  • Faunal history
  • Adaptations
  • Ecological structure
  • References
  • Glossary
